Where are my saved quotes stored?
Saved quotes and highlights are stored locally in Chrome using chrome.storage.local. Web Highlighter Pro does not maintain its own backend notes database.
Does it work on every website?
It works on normal webpages where Chrome extensions can run. Browser system pages, Chrome Web Store pages, and some protected pages may block extension scripting.
Why does the extension request access to websites?
Users can choose text on any webpage, so the extension needs permission to apply highlights and restore saved highlights on pages they visit.
Can I export research notes to Markdown?
Yes. You can export saved or filtered highlights as TXT or Markdown from the popup, including source URLs and timestamps.
Is this a web highlighter or a research clipper?
Both. It highlights selected webpage text, but the main workflow is collecting source-backed quotes and exporting them into your own notes system.
Can I use this with Obsidian, Notion, or PKM tools?
Yes. Export notes as Markdown or TXT, then import or paste them into Obsidian, Notion, Logseq, Bear, Apple Notes, Google Docs, or another knowledge workflow.
How does the lifetime license work?
After purchase, Lemon Squeezy sends a license key. Paste that key into the extension popup to unlock Lifetime Pro.
What if highlights do not appear after navigating back?
Dynamic pages can render content late. Refreshing the page usually restores saved highlights once the page content is stable.
